Alaska2Ukraine recognizes the fundamental truth that the best medicine on the battlefield, and the best support for civilians in a country at war, is resourcing their defenders to fight and win as rapidly and decisively as possible.

At the same time, we are human beings. We can’t just walk on by when people and animals need help. And as historians, medical professionals, and believers in the divine worth of all our brothers and sisters, we recognize that individuals and communities who live only for war are incapable of creating true and lasting peace.

A2U’s Community Support programs are designed to respond to this awareness. We partner with existing community organizations and individuals in the areas where we operate. We promote artistic creativity, community service, and small projects that help to preserve Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage and traditions of community resilience, intellectual discovery, delight in nature, and love of animals.

We will not win the war with our community support activities. But we believe that we can partner with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters to win back the beauty that defines Ukraine and will create the future which we want to provide to our posterity.

(Our projects include free community art therapy events led by local artists, support for companion animal rescue and rehabilitation, youth activities, aid to displaced persons, and anything else that we can think of against the broader backdrop of helping Ukrainians defend their freedom.)
